Linux

Linux is an old-school, highly reputated, foundational computer Operating System. In class this will be the operating system running in our computers.

Therefore you need to know the basic commands. Here you have a cheat sheet.

Linux should allow us to perform the usual programming operations such as:

• Managing your files siting in you user area.

• Executing Python programs

• Lauching web navigators

• Laucning anaconda navigator wich is a path to a number of useful Python programming tools.

• Lauching our Intergrated Developing System such as Idle or Spider.

• Running doctest to test the correctness of our programs.

At home you do not need to have Linux installed. Intead you can install and run Python, Idle and/or Anaconda on you Operating System and work with them independently of the operating sytsem running underneath.
