Python IDEs

This course is about programming small Python functions. The most important tasks of this process will be done using an IDE (Integrated Developping Environment) which in this course will be either idle IDLE rapid guide or Spider.

These tasks include:

• Using the shell to try the Python examples discussed in class.

• Editing and python code and comments.

• Importing common libraries such as math or pandas.

• Running and debugging python code.

• Testing and Python code.

Idle is a very basic, standalone software that can be launched directly in you computer. We recommend you have it in your favorites list. Check the Idl section bellow.

Spider is a more powerfull IDE that can be lauched from Anaconda Navigator. This is available in our copmuters and we recommend that you install it in you home computer.
